Systems Analyst

The Analyst – Network Economics will use their analytical mindset and proven experience using data to drive business outcomes and improve business processes. This role is ideally suited to an individual with experience proactively identifying issues and using their initiative to produce innovate solutions to complex business problems. Experience with data analytics, preparation of business cases, scenario analysis, quantitative program evaluation and data science is required. Industry experience within the Consulting, Telecommunications, Utility (Water, Electricity, Rail etc.) or large corporates is preferred. A working knowledge of analytics tools (one of: R, Python, Alteryx, SQL) is a must and geospatial analysis experience including (Postgis, geopandas, QGIS) is highly desirable as is experience with BI reporting tools such as Tableau.

More specifically, the Analyst – Network Economics will:

1.     Support core function of network economic centre of excellence:

a.     Create, develop and improve modelling capability/tools to accurately estimate cost and benefits associated with network investments

b.     Drive the consolidation of existing cost modelling tools in use across nbn and adoption of advanced tools into business practices across nbn

c.     Engage with stakeholders across the business to ensure alignment, transparency and strong governance of inputs, assumptions and outputs of models and tools

d.     Prepare and present scenario analysis for input into business cases and strategic projects

2.     Provide analytic support for strategic projects and responses to requests from Senior Stakeholders, ExCo/Board and external stakeholders

3.     Contribute to projects to drive automation of manual activities through the use of automation and scripting in collaboration with Systems, Data and Analytics and Operational Planning teams.

Drive effective governance processes; documentation of business processes, modelling assumptions and logic to establish clear traceability and accountability for cross-functional projects.
