Are you keen to utilising your core BRM knowledge and experience in Telco Billing to test in a new and exciting role?

 

An opportunity has become available for a seasoned Senior Software Design Engineer (Oracle BRM) within the Billing agile delivery team based in Melbourne to support a complex set of software applications and business processes.

A bit about your role

In this key role, you would be paramount in to providing key SEO application expertise to work with the Billing business stakeholders, designing and implementing new and enhanced systems and processes to meet the short- and long-term technology needs of the Billing business.

 

You will ultimately acquire and protect the key technical knowledge and IP, thereby having a full view of the landscape and history of the Billing systems and becoming a trusted adviser to the business.

 

You will be critical in the requirement gathering, analysis and coming up with the end to end design and technical solutions within the telco billing functions.

 

Some other key accountabilities would include:

  • Specifying and designing large or complex software components, ensuring that the system design balances functional, quality, security and systems management requirements
  • Undertaking impact analysis on major design options, assessing associated risk and making recommendations
  • Contributing to the development of organisational software design and architecture policies and standards
  • Defining and managing scope, requirements definition and prioritisation activities for small, medium and complex change initiatives
  • Follow agreed standards, applying appropriate techniques to elicit and document detailed requirements.  Prioritising requirements and documenting traceability to source.  Reviewing requirements for errors and omissions
  • Providing constructive challenge to stakeholders as required
  • Investigating, managing and applying authorised requests for changes to base-lined requirements, in line with change management policy

 

A bit about you

The ideal person for this role is someone who have demonstrated years of experience and knowledge working as an Oracle Billing Revenue Management (BRM) designer with the ability to investigate, define and resolve complex issues in a Telco/Wholesale Billing environment.

 

You will possess a thorough understanding of recognised software implementation methods and practices, and be able to adopt and adapt to new and developing practices in the field – both technology and process related.

 

Your outstanding communication skills will be put to good use in this role bridging the knowledge and communications gap between the business areas.  You will earn respect from your colleagues through your collaborative attitude, open mindset, big picture perspective, technical proficiency and commitment to getting the job done with the team.

 

Having programming skills in C and/or Java and a successful track record in Agile delivery would be an advantage.  Having previous experience working in a large and complex organisation and working with senior stakeholders and understanding their viewpoints would be valuable to your success.
