The Role 
This is a newly created role within our Policy & Billing Centre Platforms team for an experienced Guidewire Configuration Specialist. As a Developer you will be providing expertise across the development and support of the IAG Policy and Billing Centre uplift, with alignment to agreed service levels. Your knowledge in web services and Java will be utilised in building integrations from Guidewire Policy & Billing Centre Platforms with our partners and the enhancement of our Policy & Billing Platform.  

Furthermore, you will embrace Agile methodology and supporting frameworks, leading quality of outcome, supporting documentation, code quality and team ethos by driving these philosophy’s and enabled lower environments. The intent of the role is to design, develop, support, maintain and deliver solutions to enable our business to deliver the best possible customer experience.


Key Responsibilities: 

  • Delivery of all assigned development tasks and/or production maintenance and support services for the IAG Policy and Billing Platforms in alignment with agreed service levels, standards, processes and procedures
  • Ensure all development and production support activities are performed in accordance with agreed quality principles and processes, are in-line with customer requirements and within time and cost constraints
  • All system design, program specifications and design documentation conforms to the agreed standard
  • Ensure that customer delivery, customer focus, regular open communication, engagement and satisfaction is made a clear priority
  • Analyse and resolve system and customer incidents and problems
  • Monitor application performance and perform approved rectification and improvement initiatives
  • Provide out of hours On-Call support and maintenance, as and when required, in accordance with iag methods and standards
  • Actively participate in code quality reviews
  • Contribute to an engaged, motivated and high performing team through demonstrating the IAG Spirit – Closer, Braver, Faster

 Skills & Experience

  • Strong knowledge in Guidewire PolicyCentre & Guidewire BillingCentre (3+ years in v8+) and the GOSU programming language
  • A strong track record in application development, maintenance and support
  • Prior experience in an IT environment supporting either insurance and/or financial services (products and services).
  • Knowledge in Java; RESTful API; SOAP API will be advantageous 
  • Experience operating within an agile team environment
  • Commercial experience with Atlassian JIRA and Confluence tools
  • Automation testing capability (Ruby/Cucumber, Selenium) would be desirable
  • Tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent experience
