An exciting new opportunity to join nbn as Corporate Strategy Manager as part of nbn’s BSM Strategy Team, reporting to the Executive Manager - Strategy, Business Segment. This role will allow you to lead nbn’s business strategy, impacting creation firsthand at an executive and board level.


A bit about the role

As Corporate Strategy Manager, you will be an integral part of the Strategy Team, leading & managing key long-term strategy development programs & initiatives for the Business Segment of nbn. The Business Segment is accountable for all non-residential end-users, including businesses and government and is critical to nbn achieving its revenue and peak funding objectives. You will assist in advising the Executive Team and directing, guiding & collaborating with key stakeholders to deliver on the Business Segment strategic objectives.

You will be accountable for Corporate Strategy & Planning including creating and managing an aligned and robust annual plan, managing Business Forecast & Reporting to support effective C-Suite & Senior level decision-making, tracking and monitoring the roll-out of the Strategic Plan into team operating plans, supporting and leading strategic initiatives, high-quality analysis, strategic options assessment, planning, and strategic collaterals.

 

You will also focus on Strategy Planning Process Maturity including producing and leveraging strategic insights to anticipate dynamic demand, conducting scenarios identifying future opportunities & threats for nbn, making recommendations to the Executive Team on strategic initiatives to pursue and challenging business assumptions. Finally, your role will involve Strategy Execution where you will identify, lead and support strategic initiatives in partnership with other business functions.


The focus of your role will be:

  • Manage the delivery of strategic planning process for BSM, ensuring robust assumptions and mature process is in place
  • Manage the identification, development and assessment of nbn’s Business Segment long-term holistic market & strategic scenarios and plans for sustainable value capture & creation
  • Lead selected Business Segment strategic initiatives, collaborating with nbn ‘s Business Units and external stakeholders
  • Enhance the internal understanding of the Business Segment context by providing and effectively communicating strategic insights to key stakeholders at nbn.

 

A bit about you
The successful candidate will have tertiary academic qualifications and extensive experience in corporate strategy roles within consulting firms (preferably MBB) ideally with a focus on telecommunications projects. You will be a strategic thinker with strong commercial acumen and a passion for technology. This role will require highly developed team and project management skills with an ability to manage the delivery of high-quality outputs against demanding, competing timelines.

The ideal candidate will have exceptional verbal and written communication skills and be skilled in communicating complex technical, commercial and financial concepts in a concise and succinct way in order to drive engagement, using visual aids where required. Highly developed relationship building, complex business problem solving skills and the ability to navigate ambiguity is essential. Experience in delivering against demanding competing timelines and working constructively with experts and operational leaders across the business will be key to the success of this role.

 

An understanding of nbn’s Customers, Business, Products and Process is highly desirable in this role.
