An exciting new opportunity to join nbn as Senior Associate, Strategy BSM as part of nbn’s BSM Strategy Team, reporting to the Executive Manager of this team. Do you want to create strategy for an exciting, new business unit in an environment and market that is ever changing?

A bit about the role

As Senior Associate Strategy, you will perform a critical role in the preparation of high quality financial analysis, presentations, reports and other strategic materials to allow the senior executive team, the Board and the Shareholders to make an informed decision on the strategic direction of nbn. The Business Segment is accountable for all non-residential end-users, including businesses and government and is critical to nbn achieving its revenue and peak funding objectives. Your role will involve strategically positioning nbn to competitively win in the business market through the support of high-quality data and insights, compelling product offering, and effective delivery.

 

Your role will involve Corporate Strategy & Integrated Operating planning including leading alignment and coordination of the BSM Integrated Operating Plan through the preparation and production of high quality excel based modelling, word documents and presentations for BSM leadership team, ExCo, Board and Shareholders. You will build Strategic Relationships & offer Insights to support effective C-Suite and senior level decision-making through financial modelling and decision support on a range of scenarios. Finally, you will support Strategy Delivery through supporting strategic initiatives including BSM Product & Pricing Strategy and Regulatory Strategy through high-quality analysis, strategic options assessment, planning, complex problem solving, and strategic collaterals.


The focus of your role will be:

  • Lead and manage areas of BSM Integrated Operating Plan (IOP) process, due diligence and preparation
  • Support selected Business Segment strategic initiatives, collaborating with nbn ‘s Business Units and external stakeholders
  • Stakeholder Engagement through engaging SMEs on strategic nbn projects
  • Communication through leading and actively participating in project meetings
  • Maintaining a Personal Brand through driving a personal record of success on multiple projects

 

A bit about you
The successful candidate will have tertiary academic qualifications and extensive experience in corporate or business strategy roles within consulting firms (preferably MBB)  ideally with a focus on telecommunications projects. We are looking for a knowledgeable, proactive professional who can confidently lead complex strategic options and processes. You will have skills in constructing and managing the development of complex financial investment modelling of infrastructure investments. Experience leading problem solving and challenging the task at hand and the ability to frame these complex problems whilst identifying key issues will be critical.

High developed written and verbal communication skills and the capability to generate own insights/ messaging and frame individual stories to articulately present to senior leadership is essential.  Innovative process management skills and experience in managing own work streams (including building and running processes) and delivering on time to requirements will be highly regarded. Finally, you will be comfortable with data and have the ability to handle data effectively and communicate results in a concise manner through PowerPoint and Excel.

 

An understanding of nbn’s Customers, Business, Products and Process is highly desirable in this role.
