Job Purpose   

As a Project Manager, you will manage projects assigned by the IRi Australia Project Management Office (PMO), and assist with the development and implementation of appropriate project management methodology, templates, tools and practices that ensure projects deliver to their agreed scope, on time and budget.  You will contribute to the successful tracking of project benefits that are aligned to the strategic direction of IRI Australia and to drive continual business improvement initiatives within the PMO. 

You will be expected to:

  • Manage the projects (including Product Development, Client Implementation, Business Improvement and Change Management) assigned by the PMO, in accordance with appropriate Project Management methodology, or as directed by the PMO Director
  • Demonstrate adherence to companywide Project Management disciplines at all times – embody the principles of a PMO Centre of Excellence
  • Continue to develop and refine the suite of PMO templates that project team members will use going forward
  • Driving the successful delivery of the project plan in consultation with the project team, business stakeholders, and the Project Sponsor
  • During Project Start-up and Initiation phase: assist in expanding the business case; define the project deliverables, WBS, high level scope, initial estimates, draft schedule, and budget. Present recommendations to the Executive Team and senior stakeholders of the project
  • Build and maintain strong organisational relationships with effective communications that deliver positive project outcomes
  • Performing all project governance responsibilities required for each project
  • Proactively manage project issues and risks, ensuring minimal negative impact to project deliverables
  • Chair regular meetings including Project Steering Group, project governance, daily stand-ups, vendor engagements etc., with timely communication of action and decision logs
  • Ensure all PMO reporting obligations are fulfilled in a timely and effective manner
  • Conduct project post-implementation reviews (PIRs) to ensure ‘lessons learnt’ are captured, communicated and referenced for future projects
  • Active participation in project management knowledge sharing forums

The Ideal Candidate

  • 7+ years’ experience in Project Manager roles
  • Formal Project Management certification: PMBoK, Prince2
  • Strong experience with SDLC, Agile and Waterfall methodologies
  • Experience in delivering software development, implementation and systems improvement projects
  • Experience in process development and driving continuous improvement
  • Experience managing teams across a portfolio of 6-10 concurrent projects
  • Comfortable with a fast paced, flexible delivery approach
  • Experience implementing change management projects
  • Experience working with Big Data and Data Analytics solutions is a plus
  • Experience working with a dynamic project delivery landscape
