A genuinely unique opportunity for a well-rounded Finance Manager to take ownership of the finance function within a rapidly scaling AI business. The company currently has a business revenue of $4 - 8 million per annum but has recently completed a Series A and is on a rapid growth trajectory. 

You will be joining a company with a strong, supportive culture and an experienced leadership team that that have their backgrounds in Tier 1 company’s such as BCG, SAP and Blackrock.  

The role will report into the company’s COO and will be critical to the success of the business. You will need to be a highly accountable self-starter who can manage everything from finance strategy and planning, to treasury, to management reporting and financial compliance work. 

The role will have a global remit, and be based in the company’s head office in Sydney. 


As the Finance Mananger, you will be responsible for:

  • Manage the company’s accountants in Australia, the UK and U.S.
  • Manage Individuals in each region responsible for accounts payable, receivable and payroll
  • Manage the multiple entities of the group including payments
  • Preparation of monthly accounting journals, accruals and reconciliations
  • Manage the general ledger including overseeing the monthly balance sheet accounts, banking and inter-company reconciliations
  • Prepare and circulate monthly balance sheets, revenue reports, profit and loss statements, cash flows and financial variance analysis
  • Prepare annual financial forecasts / quarterly re-forecasts
  • Maintain rolling cashflow / runway forecast
  • Conduct in-time business performance analysis
  • Manage the year-end close process and adhering to deadlines including liaising with external accountants
  • Maintenance of asset register and depreciation calculations
  • Preparation for BAS, IAS, FBT, payroll tax, EMDG grant and R&D Tax rebate
  • Payroll management for AU, U.S. & UK
  • Cashflow management
  • Management reporting and analysis and 
  • Supporting and working closely with the management team. 


To be a perfect fit for this role you will have:

  • Qualified Chartered Accountant with CA membership or equivalent;
  • Demonstrated strong understanding of finance systems and processes;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and finance software preferably Xero; 
  • Proven ability to be a self-starter, operate with a high degree of autonomy, set and meet deadlines;
  • High attention to detail;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Track record setting up and scaling management reporting;
  • Proven data analysis skills;
  • Ability to build good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders; and 
  • Experience helping a company to scale their finance function would be viewed very positively.
  • Experience managing UK and U.S. entities would be advantageous.
